Summary Statement

Summary Statement for Software Engineer (.NET)

Principal responsibilities include the planning, requirements, design, coding, testing, debugging, system integration, and documenting of software components of complex, multi-tier government systems.

Responsible for evaluating user requests for new programs, modifications to existing programs, and system integration of off the shelf Products. Performs research and gathers relevant data to determine feasibility, appropriateness, and cost and time required. Prepares detailed estimates in order to obtain approval to proceed. Develops software according to approved specifications, tests and debug programs for the delivery of quality applications. Creates system and user documentation. Monitors ongoing program and system performance. May provide training or act as a mentor to less experienced team members.

The Software Engineer must be a fast learner with excellent communication and problem-solving skills, and able to work with minimal supervision as part of a multidisciplinary team. The Software Engineer must be able to work well with a diverse group of team members to deliver software solutions on time, on budget and within specifications.

The Software Engineer will report to the Application Development Manager responsible for the particular application area.

Preferred Qualification

Preferred Requirements for Software Engineer (.NET)

  • Possess an Associate’s Degree in IT, related field OR equivalent work experience
  • Possess strong skills in design, development and testing using Microsoft .NET framework
  • Possess strong skills in using SQL server 2013 or higher and/or Oracle 13g or higher

Job Requirements

JOB REQUIREMENTS for Software Engineer (.Net)

Applicants must have education, training and/or experience demonstrating competence in each of the following areas:

  • Possess a minimum of 2 years’ technical experience in the development of web-based solutions with specific experience in the full system development lifecycle
  • Possess a minimum of 4 years' IT experience focused on software development, report creation, system development lifecycle and application support
  • Possess a minimum of 2 years' experience in .NET technologies to include C#.NET 4.0 or higher and .NET Core C#
  • Possess a minimum of 1 year experience in reporting applications like SQL Reporting Services
  • Possess a minimum of 1 year experience working knowledge of the all SCRUM framework, practices, rules, and Agile SDLC
  • Possess professional certifications commensurate with Beginner to Intermediate technical capabilities
