Introduction

The Division of Parks and Recreation is a two-time National Gold Medal Award winning organization which operates and maintains 17 state parks and related preserves and greenways throughout Delaware. The state’s land protection programs are also administered by the Division. The Division is additionally responsible for providing recreational opportunities and educational and interpretive programs for the public.

Summary Statement

This year-round position will manage all digital media for Delaware State Parks and assist in coordinating marketing initiatives for the Division of Parks and Recreation.

Essential Functions

  • Creates content for Delaware State Parks social media, eNewsletter, Adventure Blog, digital ads and other communications.
  • Manages, schedules, monitors and maintains Delaware State Parks social media, blog, eNewsletter, digital advertising and other platforms.
  • Tracks and regularly reports on data metrics of digital marketing platforms and makes recommendations for increased effectiveness in future campaigns.
  • Assists with multimedia production (photography, videography) and asset management.
  • Assists in development, preparation and staffing of public promotional events such as trade shows, community events, programs, concerts, fairs, etc.
  • Handles miscellaneous inquiries
  • Other duties as required.

JOB REQUIREMENTS for Digital Marketing Specialist

Applicants must have education, training and/or experience demonstrating competence in each of the following areas:

  1. Six months experience in social media content creation and platform management including paid ads and boosted posts.
  2. Six months experience writing copy and editorial for marketing media.
  3. Six months experience in gathering, organizing, formatting, interpreting, or editing information and disseminating the information through the use of print, broadcast, or digital media.
  4. Experience with working trade shows or special events to promote a product or service.
  5. Knowledge or experience with photography and/or videography.
  6. Possession of a valid Driver's License (not suspended, revoked or cancelled, or disqualified from driving).

This is a Casual/Seasonal position which is a non-pension eligible position without healthcare and/or other benefits.
