Summary Statement

This position Supervises the Canteen, which is a small deli establishment within the hospital. The Canteen's main goal is to provide customer friendly service to the residents, employees, and visitors. The person in this position will be responsible for knowing and practicing food safety standards, ordering food/supplies, communicating with vendors, calculating sales pricing, monitoring inventory, scheduling staff, overseeing staff and assisting when needed, ensuring quality food is produced, and ensuring that food safety protocols are followed at all times

Essential Functions

  • Collects, receives, marks, sorts, stacks, distributes, and inventories supplies, materials, equipment, parts, or other articles.
     
  • Locates and selects material, supplies, tools, equipment, parts, or other articles from stockroom, warehouse, storage yard, or other related areas.
     
  • Adjusts, repairs, assembles, or prepares products, supplies, equipment, or other items according to specifications or customer requirements.
     
  • Operates a variety of equipment for the purpose of preparing, inspecting, weighing, evaluating, recording, marking, or transporting supplies, materials, equipment, or other articles.
     
  • Records type, quantity, value, or location of material, supplies, equipment or other articles received, shipped, used, or issued. 
     
  • Cleans and maintains supplies, tools, equipment, instruments, and storage areas to ensure compliance with safety regulations; ensures security of inventory. 

Job Requirements

JOB REQUIREMENTS for Supply, Storage and Distribution Supervisor
Applicants must have education, training and/or experience demonstrating competence in each of the following areas:

  1. Two years experience in inventory control such as ordering, receiving, tracking, storing and handling inventory; disbursing materials, supplies and equipment. 
  2. One year experience in creating reports which includes combining and presenting data from multiple sources in an organized format.
  3. Six months experience in using standard computer software programs for word processing, spreadsheets or databases.
  4. Knowledge of staff supervision acquired through course work, academic training, training provided through an employer, or performing as a lead worker overseeing the work of others; OR supervising staff which may include planning, assigning, reviewing, and evaluating the work of others; OR supervising through subordinate supervisors a group of professional, technical, and clerical employee.

Conditions of Hire

Pre-employment Drug Testing:  Upon a conditional offer, you must undergo pre-employment drug testing as part of the hiring process.

Criminal background check: A satisfactory criminal background check is required as a condition of hire.  The recruiting agency may require the applicant to pay for the criminal background check as part of the conditional offer of hire. 

Upon a conditional offer, the applicant must undergo a pre-employment base line two step tuberculin skin test (TST) as part of the hiring process. 

This position is a classification organized under an exclusive bargaining representative (labor organization).  The candidate selected for this position shall be asked to join and pay dues to the labor organization or may, decline joining the labor organization and not pay dues or a fee.  The labor organization has been elected by employees as their representative for collective bargaining and other work related purposes.
