Summary Statement

The incumbent provides coverage in case of teacher absence. The location will be the Multipurpose Building, this is a secure facility, on the main campus of the department. The incumbent will need to work as part of a team and present instruction designed to meet the needs of a diverse population; behavior management, as well as interfacing with families and the public.

Essential Functions

To perform this job successfully, the incumbent must be able to perform the essential duties and responsibilities in a satisfactory manner. Essential functions are fundamental, core functions common to all positions in the class series and are not intended to be an exhaustive list of all job duties for any one position.

  • Administer assessments.
  • Understand Individualized Education Programs (IEP).
  • Understand and follow lesson plans.
  • Cover classes when teachers are absent.
  • Collaborate effectively with staff during instructional time.

Job Requirements

  1. Must have at least 60 college credits or an Associate Degree as required by No Child Left Behind (NCLB).

Conditions of Hire

Pre-employment Drug Testing:  Upon a conditional offer, you must undergo pre-employment drug testing as part of the hiring process.
