Summary Statement

The Technology Enabling Specialist position serves as technical support to the Enterprise Architecture Team.

Relating to Architecture - Applications

  • Maintain, update, publish and promote the IT architectural model and standards.
  • Monitor standards compliance and help arbitrate IT standards disputes.

Relating to Architecture - Technology

  • Provide smooth integration of new technology that has been identified by the IT Architect as a strategic direction into the State's IT and business infrastructure.
  • Provide training and assistance in the new technology to project teams.
  • Develop, maintain and upgrade test scripts and operating parameters for technology applications.
  • Test and document new releases of technology applications.
  • Evaluate and recommend alternative technology solutions, materials and sources with consideration for cost and reliability.

Relating to Project Facilitation/BISI/Government Continuance

  • Conduct interviews and requirements sessions and document business processes via models and flows.
  • Define, implement and document programs to economically optimize process operations.
  • Provide training on the submission of IT project requests and maintain the status of the projects throughout the System Design Life Cycle (SDLC).
  • Actively participate in activities directed toward IT productivity and capacity expansions.

Relating to Quality Control and Assurance

  • Identify key operations affecting product quality.
  • Prioritize and establish statistical control procedures to ensure compliance with and improve upon established quality standards.

Job Requirements

Job Requirements for Technology Enabling Specialist

  • Bachelor’s Degree in IT or related field or equivalent work experience.
  • Knowledge and experience of project management methodologies, business process reengineering and concepts of application design and user design.
  • Knowledge and experience of security, network, and IT platform standards, protocols and technologies.
  • Experience in configuring and administering applications such as ServiceNow for a diverse base of customers.
  • Knowledge and experience in researching and testing new software releases and features for SaaS like ServiceNow.
