The Security Operations Center (SOC) Analyst position is a Senior cyber security analyst position with principal responsibility to work on a world class Security Operations Team, focused on the protection of customer data and network traffic. The Security Operations Center Team collects security logs from systems across the state network including; firewalls, servers, applications, endpoint security systems, mainframe and databases. The position will manage, configure and drive the use of the state’s security event and incident detection system (SEIM) to analyze and respond to threats against the state network. The position will create alerts and reports to alert the state to attacks and threats. The position will receive, analyze and integrate threat intelligence from multiple industry cybersecurity sources including federal law enforcement and correlate that information with real-time threats facing the state.
Principal responsibilities include working on a world class Security Operations Team, focused on protection of customer data and network traffic. Responsible for administering, and overseeing information security systems, tools, polices, and procedures required to protect critical assets. Responsible for technical leadership in the monitoring for a wide and varied number of critical information systems to detect and analyze abnormalities/problems, initiate corrective actions, and restore systems to normal function.
The primary focus of this position is on the confidentiality, integrity and availability of the infrastructure and the processes required for delivering applications and services throughout the state, including those managed and operated by third parties.
