Summary Statement

The Technology Enabling Specialist position serves as technical analyst on the Innovation Team.  

Relating to Enterprise and Statewide Applications

  • Research, test and document new technology and/or new features of existing enterprise and statewide applications.
  • Provide smooth integration of new technology, in conjunction with Enterprise Architecture, when establishing new strategic direction into the State's IT and business infrastructure.
  • Provide training and assistance in the new technology to project teams and customers.
  • Champion the introduction and mainstreaming of new technology, both hardware and software, as enterprise and statewide applications.
  • Evaluate and recommend alternative solutions, materials and sources with consideration for cost and reliability.

Relating to Architecture – Enterprise and Statewide Applications

  • Assist Enterprise Architecture to publish and promote standards around the use and deployment of new technology, including enterprise and statewide applications.
  • Monitor the use and efficacy of technology introduced by the Innovation Team and make recommendations for driving utilization.

Relating to Innovation Project Coordination

  • Conduct interviews and requirements sessions and document business processes via models and flows.  Use this information to set direction for Innovation research.
  • Using the process information, redesign processes to achieve greater efficiency in DTI as well as in agencies.
  • Define, implement and document processes to economically optimize State services.
  • Communicate and maintain the status of the Innovation Team projects.
  • Actively engage our agency partners in activities that increase their knowledge, understanding and use of automated processes in the State’s enterprise and statewide applications, as well as the possibilities offered by new technologies.

Job Requirements

JOB REQUIREMENTS for Technology Enabling Specialist

  • Possess a bachelor’s degree in an IT discipline.
  • Possess a minimum of 2 years’ experience in configuring and administrating applications for a diverse base of customers.
  • Possess a minimum of 2 years’ experience with project management methodologies for software development.
  • Possess a minimum 2 years of programming experience, and 4 years of systems analysis/design, including process re-engineering.
  • Possess a minimum of 1 year experience in researching and testing new software releases and features.
