Summary Statement

The incumbent in this position will schedule medical appointments for residents and ensure transportation is provided. The incumbent will supervise the Attendant Chauffeur and Certified Nursing Assistants who provide the transportation. Other duties include: being the Key Keeper for Fleet Services, maintaining records, compiling reports, and maintaining State Fleet vehicles.

Essential Functions

  • Oversees resident-transportation operations to ensure that appointments are kept and that residents are transported to medical and other appointments.
     
  • Supervises unit employees by planning, assigning and reviewing work and evaluating performance; trains staff in applicable program procedures.
     
  • Completes weekly and monthly records such as the number of residents transported.
     
  • Coordinates with various facilities/offices to obtain appointment schedules and with the medical unit to arrange appointments.
     
  • Ensures that necessary paperwork is delivered in a timely manner as needed.
     
  • Transports residents in peak periods or in absence of staff; ensures availability of vehicles for daily trips.
     
  • Manages OMB Fleet Services Key Keeper Site.
     
  • Remains in building while residents are being picked up for appointments.

Job Requirements

 JOB REQUIREMENTS for Transportation Coordinator
Applicants must have education, training and/or experience demonstrating competence in each of the following areas:

  1. Six months experience in recordkeeping.
  2. Knowledge of staff supervision acquired through course work, academic training, training provided through an employer, or performing as a lead worker overseeing the work of others; OR supervising staff which may include planning, assigning, reviewing, and evaluating the work of others; OR supervising through subordinate supervisors a group of professional, technical, and clerical employees.
  3. Possession of a valid Driver's License (not suspended, revoked or cancelled, or disqualified from driving).

Conditions of Hire

Criminal background check: A satisfactory criminal background check is required as a condition of hire.  The recruiting agency may require the applicant to pay for the criminal background check as part of the conditional offer of hire.

Pre-employment Drug Testing:  Upon a conditional offer, you must undergo pre-employment drug testing as part of the hiring process.

Upon a conditional offer, the applicant must undergo a pre-employment base line two step tuberculin skin test (TST) as part of the hiring process.
