Summary Statement

This position will be responsible for overseeing all front desk operations, park permit sales, and retail sales at the Indian River Life-Saving Station Museum.  Responsibilities may include responding to park visitor questions, supervising front counter staff, completing daily deposits, creating associated revenue reports, taking park program reservations, maintaining retail merchandise, running an automated sales program and other clerical duties as required.  Applicants must be able to work weekends and holidays as scheduled.

Essential Functions

  • Collect appropriate fees and maintain accountability for handling of money.
  • Serve as liaison with the public, clients, staff and others to exchange information and explain services, rules, regulations, policies and procedures.
  • Track inventory and purchase new merchandise.
  • Maintain gift shop displays and cleanliness of the store.
  • Maintain and compile fiscal and narrative records and reports.
  • Must be able to demonstrate responsibility, dependability and good communication skills.
  • Maintain a positive attitude.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

Applicants must have education, training and/or experience demonstrating competence in each of the following areas:

  1. Six months customer service experience.
  2. Six months experience in cash handling, writing receipts.
  3. Six months experience in using standard computer software programs for word processing, spreadsheets or databases.
