Summary Statement

The position will provide exceptional visual and written content for marketing & media outreach across all media platforms. They will be responsible for the branded voice of state tourism materials, building relationships with travel media and obtaining/coordinating video content. They will write targeted media pitches, web based content that inspires travel and business-to-business communications. The team member will develop designs for episodic videos, maintain photo inventory and have knowledge of web based marketing.

Essential Functions

  • Develop visual and written content
  • Develop and implement digital media content calendar
  • Develop new content campaigns including video episodic programs, social-first content campaigns that deliver ROI from targeted demographic
  • Design motion graphics, animation or other graphic effects including interactive stories, video and film, etc.
  • Manage online video platforms
  • Utilizes new technologies such as; 360, drone, etc. to enhance content
  • Ensure that all visual and written content adheres to brand standards
  • Maintains understanding of target audiences’ needs and how to motivate traveler through creative concepts
  • Develops and implements educational opportunities for the industry in regards to content creation
  • Serves as on-air talent for online broadcasts
  • Assists with coordinating events including but not limited to press events, sponsorship activations, etc.
  • Maintain relationships with vendors and tourism industry partners

JOB REQUIREMENTS for Tourism Content Producer

Applicants must have education, training and/or experience demonstrating competence in each of the following areas:

  1. Must have 5 years experience in professional writing
  2.  Must have experience with visual media such as; creation of videos (directly obtaining footage and editing or working with vendor), social-first content, and photography
  3.  Must have effective communication skills with media and consumers
  4. Must be able to effectively work on a team
  5. Must be able to travel in and out-of-state and be able to work nights and weekends, if needed.
  6. Hands-on experience with 360 and drone technology is preferred
  7. Bachelors Degree in Communications/English/Journalism fields preferred
