Summary Statement

Responsible for working with the IT Controller and the fiscal team members to ensure financial resources are utilized in the best interest of the Department, its clients, and the citizens of the State of Delaware.

Responsible for the application of standardized accounting practices and principles in the analysis and maintenance of financial account records and reports.

Responsible for preparing fiscal reports and analysis to provide accurate and consistent financial and fiscal information to support DTI’s business decisions, new initiatives, and special projects.

Assist in providing technical and procedural guidance, training and assistance to new and/or lower level personnel and other departmental staff members.

Areas of responsibility may include payroll accounting, procurement, accounts payable, cost recovery, fiscal monitoring, monthly reconciliation, financial analysis and reports, Federal grants programs, collections and accounts receivable processing.

This position requires technical training and experience in governmental accounting, particularly in the areas of cost recovery and general accounting practices.

JOB REQUIREMENTS for Fiscal Analyst

  • Possess a minimum of 3 years’ experience in payroll, governmental accounting, budgeting, cost recovery, and auditing methods and techniques.
  • Possess a minimum of 3 years’ experience using methods and techniques used in assembling, analyzing, and interpreting financial and accounting data and the preparation of financial reports.
  • Possess a minimum of 3 years’ experience preparing various types of state financial documents, reconciliation, and reports.

Conditions of Hire

Criminal background check: A satisfactory fingerprint based criminal background check administered by the Delaware State Police is required as a Condition of Hire.
