This position will review taxpayer filings and conduct audits of individuals to determine the accuracy of tax returns and ensure compliance with applicable laws. This may involve adjusting income, deductions, or credits on personal income tax accounts or moving returns and payments. The position will issue correspondence to taxpayers, compile spreadsheets and audit notes, draft Notices of Proposed Assessment, prepare audit reports and conclusion summaries, assist DOR staff members with technical questions, and may be called upon to process personal income tax returns during tax season.
This limited-term position supplements DOR (Division of Revenue) staffing during a significant project. This project is an assignment that is projected to exist for a minimum of one year.
