Summary Statement

The Information Security Specialist role reports to the Information Security Manager and is responsible for the information security administration within the Delaware Judicial Branch. This position is a part of the Information Security Team. It provides hands-on support for user access provisioning and more.

Essential Functions

Essential functions are fundamental, core functions common to all positions in the class series and are not intended to be an exhaustive list of all job duties for any one position in the class.   • Provide hands-on support for user access provisioning and other security-related requests. 
  • Work closely with and serve as a backup for the Security Analyst.
  • Provides input for Continuity of Operations (COOP) Plans and ensures users’ contact information is up to date.  
  • Participates in an Incident Response Team for the Delaware Judicial Branch.
  • Assist with user/system cleanup efforts.
  • Performs other security functions as requested.
  • Maintain confidentiality on all sensitive security matters.

Job Requirements

Applicants must have education, training and/or experience demonstrating competence in each of the following areas:

  1. A Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent work experience is preferred.  
  2. Experience working in the IT field related to Information Security. 
  3. Experience with Active Directory and managing access across a complex network.
  4. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. 
  5. Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and initiatives.  
  6. Experience with Epicor or ServiceNow preferred.

Conditions of Hire

  • A satisfactory criminal background check is required as a condition of hire.
