Summary Statement

This position will be responsible for the monthly, quarterly, and annual reconciliations of the client account/general accounting units. They will conduct the analysis of past and present financial reports and reconcile them.  The selected incumbent will also have responsibilities as it pertains to the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) reporting. This position will also assist with compiling and analyzing documentation for audit purposes.

Essential Functions

  • Compiles and analyzes financial information to support budget development.
     
  • Analyzes payroll information to assist in the development of staffing plans.
     
  • Provides analysis of programmatic impact on the agency's budget.
     
  • Works with division management/fiscal to review, prepare and monitor each division's budget.
     
  • Monitors and analyzes various legislation to determine possible impact on department's overall fiscal position.

Job Requirements

JOB REQUIREMENTS for Fiscal Analyst
Applicants must have education, training and/or experience demonstrating competence in each of the following areas:

  1. Six months experience in accounting using Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). 
  2. Six months experience in compiling, analyzing and interpreting financial data to ensure effective and efficient accounting of funds or to make projections for financial planning.
  3. Six months experience in analyzing financial problems, developing alternatives, recommending and advising management on solutions.
  4. Six months experience in interpreting laws, rules, regulations, standards, policies, and procedures.
  5. Six months experience in narrative report writing.
