Summary Statement

The Events Coordinator is responsible for the management and coordination of weddings and special events held at Auburn Heights; a special use facility located in Auburn Valley State Park. Applicants must be available to work weekends, evenings, and holidays as scheduled.

Essential Functions

Essential functions are fundamental, core functions common to all positions in the class series and are not intended to be an exhaustive list of all job duties for any one position in the class.   • Provide customer services by explaining regulations, answering visitor requests, needs and complaints, and providing information about the park and surrounding areas.
  • Answer phones, screen calls and make follow-up phone calls.
  • Show facilities to potential clients, repairmen; conduct check in and check out procedures.
  • Schedule groups for the special events, and follow up with appropriate paperwork.
  • Serve as liaison with the public, clients, staff and others to exchange information and explain services, rules, regulations, policies and procedures. 
  • Maintain and control data and/or filing systems to ensure effective, accurate and easily retrievable documentation of operations, program and project activities.
  • Must be able to demonstrate responsibility, dependability and good communication skills.
  • Maintain a positive attitude. 
  • Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

Applicants must have education, training and/or experience demonstrating competence in each of the following areas:

  1. Six months experience in interpreting rules, regulations, policies and procedures.
  2. Six months experience in office operations and functions.
  3. Six months experience in cash handling or writing receipts.
  4. Six months experience using Microsoft Office Programs including Outlook, Excel, and Publisher.

Conditions of Hire

Criminal background check:  A satisfactory criminal background check is required as a condition of hire.  The recruiting agency may require the applicant to pay for the criminal background check as part of the conditional offer of hire.    

As a condition of hire you must possess a valid driver's license (not suspended, revoked or cancelled, or disqualified from driving).
