Summary Statement

The Technology Enabling Specialist position serves as technical support to the Applications DeliveryTeam.  

Relating to Enterprise and Statewide Applications

  • Research, test and document new releases and features of enterprise and statewide applications such as ServiceNow.
  • Provide smooth integration of new technology that has been identified by the Enterprise Architect as a strategic direction into the State's IT and business infrastructure.
  • Provide training and assistance in the new technology to project teams and customers.
  • Champion the creation and maintenance of test scripts for enterprise and statewide applications.
  • Evaluate and recommend alternative solutions, materials and sources with consideration for cost and reliability.

Relating to Architecture – Enterprise and Statewide Applications

  • Maintain, update, publish and promote standards around the use and deployment of enterprise and statewide applications such as ServiceNow
  • Monitor standards compliance and help arbitrate enterprise and statewide application standards disputes.

Relating to Project Coordination

  • Conduct interviews and requirements sessions and document business processes via models and flows.
  • Define, implement and document processes to economically optimize State services.
  • Communicate and maintain the status of the projects.
  • Actively engage our customers in activities that increase their knowledge, understanding and use of automated processes in the State’s enterprise and statewide applications.

Job Requirements

JOB REQUIREMENTS for Technology Enabling Specialist

  • Possess a bachelor’s degree in IT, relevant field OR equivalent work experience.
  • Possess a minimum of 2 years’ experience in configuring and administrating applications for a diverse base of customers.
  • Possess a minimum of 2 years’ experience with project management methodologies for software development.
  • Possess a minimum of 1 year experience in researching and testing new software releases and features.
  • Possess knowledge of all domains of technology including but not limited to SaaS, PaaS, relational database management systems, telecommunications and networks, geographic information systems, applications development and systems security.

Conditions of Hire

Criminal background check: A satisfactory fingerprint based criminal background check administered by the Delaware State Police is required as a Condition of Hire.
