The incumbent in this position will be responsible for the oversight and management of the Records Services Section of the Delaware Pubic Archives and supervise a staff of six, including all volunteer activities. This position will direct, assign and monitor processing activities within the section for various media formats such as paper, electronic, digital, audio and microfilm. Lead accession liaison between the public and Archives. Make recommendations and implement operational processes.

- Possession of a Bachelor's degree or higher in History, Library Science, Political Science or related field.

- Examines, identifies, arranges and classifies books/documents/electronic tapes/publications/records according to a pre-determined classification system.
- Develops item descriptions noting content, format/media, arrangement and relation to provenance/origin.
- Assists patrons/researchers by explaining the facility's resources, gathering available information/materials and demonstrating equipment operation.
- Applies conservation and preservation techniques to aged or damaged books/ documents/electronic tapes/records by unfolding, cleaning, repairing tears, removing tape, placing in acid free containers, filming, refilming, media/technological migration.
- Attends workshops, conferences and seminars to receive training related to the identification, care and maintenance of books/documents/records held by public agencies and accessible to the general public.
JOB REQUIREMENTS for Information Resources Supervisor
Applicants must have education, training and/or experience demonstrating competence in each of the following areas:
- Six months experience in preparing and developing training courses.
- Three years experience in presenting training courses which includes using a variety of training methods such as lecture, structured exercises, role play or group discussion as well as the use of training materials such as overheads, PowerPoint, handouts or videos.
- Three years experience in research which includes systematic study to discover or establish facts.
- Three years experience in archives, records management or library services.
- Knowledge of grant management and control which includes monitoring and evaluating grant expenditures.
- Knowledge of staff supervision acquired through course work, academic training, training provided through an employer, or performing as a lead worker overseeing the work of others; OR supervising staff which may include planning, assigning, reviewing, and evaluating the work of others; OR supervising through subordinate supervisors a group of professional, technical, and clerical employees.
