Summary Statement

The Facilities Coordinator position is responsible for booking and facilitating rentals, events, and programs through the Baldcypress Nature Center at Trap Pond State Park. Duties require a high level of organizational skills and a focus on customer service. Schedule is flexible, but weekend and evening work may be required.

Essential Functions

Essential functions are fundamental, core functions common to all positions in the class series and are not intended to be an exhaustive list of all job duties for any one position in the class.   • Schedules groups for the special Events, and follow up with appropriate paperwork.
  • Provides excellent customer service for private events.
  • Prepares and cleans facility for events.
  • Plans and facilitates park events, concerts, and other programs.
  • Develops media public relations materials to recruit for rentals, events, and programs.
  • Serves as liaison with the public, clients, staff and others to exchange information and explain services, rules, regulations, policies and procedures. 
  • Maintains and controls data and/or filing systems to ensure effective, accurate and easily retrievable documentation of operations, program and project activities.
  • Inputs and maintains reservation and other data.
  • Assists with educational programming for school groups and the public.
  • Works cooperatively with a diverse group of customers and employees.
  • Must be able to demonstrate responsibility, dependability and good communication skills.
  • Other duties as assigned.

JOB REQUIREMENTS for Seasonal Facilities Coordinator

Applicants must have education, training and/or experience demonstrating competence in each of the following areas:

  1. Six months experience in interpreting rules, regulations, policies and procedures.
  2. Six months experience in office operations and functions.
  3. Possession of a valid driver’s license (not suspended, revoked or cancelled, or disqualified from driving).
  4. Must be 20 years of age by April 1, 2019

Conditions of Hire

Criminal background check:  A satisfactory criminal background check is required as a condition of hire.  The recruiting agency may require the applicant to pay for the criminal background check as part of the conditional offer of hire.
