The State of Delaware Department of Transportation Summer Internship Program provides engineering students with training to accompany their classroom knowledge. Under direct supervision, students will perform various duties that are directly related to their academic major. For approximately 12 weeks, Engineering Interns will work in an area of interest that may include any of the transportation engineering specialties.
Positions will be located in Kent, Sussex and New Castle Counties. The length of an internship is approximately 12 weeks.
JOB REQUIREMENTS for Civil Engineering Internship Students
Interested students must meet the following requirements:
1.Be at least 18 years of age or older.
2.Have completed their Freshman year seeking their Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Engineering.
3.Maintain at least a 2.0 overall GPA on a 4.0 scale.
4.Include a resume with application.
5.Furnish a current unofficial transcript from an accredited college to State of Delaware Department of Transportation by close of business on March 17, 2021 (fax: 302-760-2771 or mail to: Delaware Dept. of Transportation, PO Box 778, Dover, DE 19903).

Pre-employment Drug Testing: Upon a conditional offer, you must undergo pre-employment drug testing as part of the hiring process.
Criminal background check: A satisfactory criminal background check is required as a condition of hire. The recruiting agency may require the applicant to pay for the criminal background check as part of the conditional offer of hire.
