Summary Statement

The incumbent provides common-core aligned math instruction to students and is responsible for planning, instruction, assessment, and ensuring classroom compliance with special education mandates for enrolled students.

Essential Functions

To perform this job successfully, the incumbent must be able to perform the essential duties and responsibilities in a satisfactory manner.   • Delivers instruction based on the general education curriculum Delaware Standards.
  • Designs an instructional program based on core curriculum and adapted to meet individual needs.
  • Develops and implements a successful classroom management system.
  • Assesses students in assigned certification area.
  • Collaborates/communicates with members of the Education Unit, other service providers, and parents.
  • Complies with Federal, State and Local Regulations, Policies and Procedures.
  • Remains current in certification research, instructional strategies and technology.

Job Requirements for Teacher

Applicants must have education, training and/or experience demonstrating competence in each of the following areas:

  1. Must hold current State of Delaware (or be eligible for) teaching license.
  2. Must be certified or certifiable in Secondary Mathematics.
  3. Must be certified or certifiable in special education/Exceptional Children K-12.

License,Registrations and Certifications

Applicant will submit the following at time of interview:

  1. Copy of (unofficial) transcripts.
  2. Copy of Professional Status Certification and License.
  3. Documentation of Praxis-I and/or Core Academic Skills

Conditions of Hire
