Summary Statement

Support the Delaware Division of Parks and Recreation’s goals, objectives and initiatives by driving and maintaining the camper store/marketing RV in a safe and effective manner. Disperse marketing materials and provide retail/inventory sales support.  You will travel throughout the State utilizing a Tow Vehicle, pick up, drive, set up Division’s 23’ Airstream Flying Cloud RV to special events, shows, parks and venues and to trade-shows/events as key representative/operator of DE State Parks Traveling Retail Store.

Essential Functions

Essential functions are fundamental, core functions common to all positions in the class series and are not intended to be an exhaustive list of all job duties for any one position in the class.  Since class specifications are descriptive and not restrictive, incumbents can complete job duties of similar kind not specifically listed here.

  • Responsible for Delaware State Parks traveling retail store operations (requires travel).
  • Assist Marketing and Retail Staff with daily duties as needed.
  • Ensure vehicle is stocked with Retail Items, Marketing Material and giveaways, by communicating with Management when stock is low.
  • Able to speak publicly in front of groups or audiences.
  • Set up location, Retail/Marketing Items, Table, Chairs, Banners, etc.
  • Clean and Maintain RV.
  • Ability to lift heavy items and set up RV.
  • Demonstrated RV transportation and set-up experience.
  • Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Provide general customer service and park information to visitors.  
  • Other duties as required

Job Requirements

Applicants must have education, training and/or experience demonstrating competence in each of the following areas:

  1. Possession of a valid Driver's License (not suspended, revoked or cancelled, or disqualified from driving).
  2. Six months customer service experience.
  3. Knowledge of operating a Tow Vehicle.

Conditions of Hire

Criminal background check:  A satisfactory criminal background check is required as a condition of hire.  The recruiting agency may require the applicant to pay for the criminal background check as part of the conditional offer of hire.
