Summary Statement

The principal responsibility for the Systems Administration Associate Analyst is to provide highly effective technical support for DTI’s technical infrastructure. Highly effective means that the services for the assigned assets are provided in a way that is efficient, meets the needs of the customers (both DTI and other state agencies) and customers in compliance with DTI policy and procedures. The services will be primarily rendered through a combination of personal effort, joint effort with others in the workgroup, and collaboration with other DTI staff, vendors, and customers.

The ASSOCIATE ANALYST is expected to possess modest technical proficiency in at least one of the core Technology Domains and an aptitude for learning in the rest.

The ASSOCIATE ANALYST will report to the System Administration Manager.

  • Server Infrastructure
  • Microsoft Technologies 
  • Linux
  • HP/UX Support
  • VMWare Virtualization
  • Database
  • Project Management
  • Web Engineering Support and Planning

JOB REQUIREMENTS for the DTI Systems Administration Associate Analyst:

  • Possession of an Associates degree in an I/T discipline strongly preferred, or equivalent work experience. 
  • One or more years of technical experience in any of the Technology Domains (Server Infrastructure, Microsoft Technologies, Linux, HP/UX Support, VMWare Virtualization, Database, Project Management, Web Engineering Support and Planning). Technical proficiency should be classified as BEGINNER. Specific technical components and/or skills required for each of the Technology Domains are listed below.
    *MidRange Server Support – LINUX, Windows, UNIX – Red Hat/Oracle LINUX, Windows Server 2016/2012, HPUX Middleware Support – SFTP, Oracle IAM, XML, Tivoli TSM, BackupExec, VEEAM
    *Web Engineering Support – WebSphere, WebLogic, Apache, IIS, Sharepoint, XML
    *Configuration Management – Chef, Puppet, Ansible or other configuration management tools
    *Data Center Support – 1st level technical support to troubleshoot virtual server/software related issues, execute backup/recovery procedures, SolarWinds SAM monitoring. 
  •  Skill in effective oral and written communication.
