POSITION HIGHLIGHTS
As an Duplicating Technician with our Mail Services/Processing Unit, you will be working in a highly confidential, professional and fast-paced environment. Some of your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Operating high-volume scanning equipment;
- Operating various types of duplicating and finishing equipment;
- Maintaining and adjusting equipment to ensure proper paper feeding and copy quality;
- Performing minor repairs on all equipment including auxiliary equipment;
- Performing routine/daily cleaning of equipment including adding toner and greasing and oiling parts;
- Maintaining records and inventory as necessary;
- Utilizing computer software, and other related duties as required.
Much of the work involved is physical in nature and requires standing, lifting, bending, and carrying items that may weigh up to 60 lbs. Therefore, incumbents in this class must have and maintain adequate physical strength, stamina, agility, visual and auditory acuity to be able to perform the required duties.

PURPOSE OF JOB CLASS (NATURE OF WORK)
This class is accountable for independently performing a full range of tasks involved in operating a variety of duplicating and finishing equipment.
EXAMPLES OF DUTIES
Operates various types of duplicating and finishing equipment; selects appropriate papers; prioritizes assignments; maintains and adjusts equipment to ensure proper paper feeding and copy quality; performs repairs on all equipment including auxiliary equipment; performs routine/daily cleaning of equipment including adding toner and greasing and oiling parts; performs recordkeeping and inventory; may be required to maintain files and provide quality control for a variety of electronic items such as CD and DVD records; may operate check processing equipment; designs layouts of mechanicals; performs related duties as required.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY
Knowledge of and ability to operate various automated duplicating and finishing equipment including basic layout and design; some interpersonal skills; some oral and written communication skills; ability to utilize computer software; ability to identify duplicating problems and propose solutions; ability to understand and effectively carry out oral and written instructions.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS - GENERAL EXPERIENCE
One (1) year of experience in the operation, adjustment and maintenance of automated duplicating equipment.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience operating high-volume scanning equipment;
- Experience operating various types of duplicating and finishing equipment;
- Experience maintaining and adjusting equipment;
- Experience performing minor repairs on duplicating equipment;
- Experience performing routine/daily cleaning of equipment;
- Experience maintaining records and inventory as necessary;
- Experience operating check processing equipment;
- Experience utilizing computer software.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
1. Incumbents in this class must have adequate physical strength, stamina, physical agility and visual and auditory acuity, and must maintain such physical fitness as to be able to perform the duties.
2. A physical examination may be required.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Incumbents may be required to lift moderate weight; may be exposed to noise and risk of injury from duplicating equipment.
