The State of Connecticut, Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP) Bureau of Central Services, Engineering and Field Support Services East District Construction Crew has three (3) Seasonal Maintainer positions open, located in Marlborough, CT.

POSITION HIGHLIGHTS
Seasonal Maintainer: performing work related to the maintenance and operation of DEEP boat launches, dams and managed lands and facilities.

Schedule: M-F 7:00am – 3:30pm (40 hrs.)

Anticipated Duration: Spring through early winter.

Salary: Depends on relevant education and/or experience. There are no benefits with this position.

Selection Plan

These positions are seasonal, non-competitive, and open to the public. Applicants must have a valid driver’s license and an excellent driving record. Applicants must be 18 years old minimum.

  • Selected candidates must possess and maintain adequate physical flexibility, strength and stamina to perform the duties (including work outside in inclement weather, work outside for extended periods), and work well with other staff and members of the public.

PURPOSE OF JOB CLASS (NATURE OF WORK)

In the Department of Energy and Environmental Protection, as a limited duration employee, performs one or more of a variety of tasks and assigned duties of a seasonal nature.

EXAMPLES OF DUTIES

Duties include performing work related to the maintenance and operation of DEEP boat launches, dams and managed lands and facilities including but not limited to mowing, trimming, building cleaning, janitorial, routine preventative equipment maintenance, litter pickup and painting. The employee may be requested to work in adverse weather conditions and be required to do some heavy lifting. Depending on level of training and experience these positions could involve the use of construction equipment, assisting with the operation of a s
