The State of Connecticut, Department of Public Health (DPH) has an exciting opportunity for you! We are currently recruiting for a Health Program Assistant 1. This Health Program Assistant position is assigned to the Women’s Health and Prevention Unit of the Community, Family Health & Prevention Section. This position will provide support to the State Personal Responsibility Education Program (PREP) and Maternal Mortality Review Grant Coordinators and Principal Investigators.
The responsibilities of this Health Program Assistant 1 position include assisting with contract initiation, development and monitoring, monitoring of fiscal and programmatic reports, entering data into large databases, gather data for state and federal reporting, plan and coordinate activities with state and local collaborative partners, participate in Advisory Council and meetings with federal project officers, participate in the Quality Improvement process, track fidelity monitoring and other duties as necessary to implement the teen pregnancy, HIV and STI prevention education to at-risk youth and to reduce maternal mortality and morbidity. This position requires travel in or out-of-state.

The work schedule for this position is typically Monday - Friday, 35 hours per week. This is a bargaining unit position and tuition reimbursement may be available for union members after the candidate successfully completes the working test period.
