About the Authority

The State of Connecticut, Paid Family and Medical Leave Insurance Authority (the "Authority) is a quasi-governmental agency formed by statute and signed into law by Governor Ned Lamont in 2019. Its mission is to help Connecticut’s workforce navigate health challenges and life changes with greater financial security.

Through a trust funded by employees, the Authority makes benefits payments to eligible employees when either the employee or their family member takes a leave from work to care for themselves or a family member.

The Role

We are looking for an experienced MuleSoft Developer. The MuleSoft Developer works in partnership with the Product Owner, IT Solution Architect and IT Solution Manager and is responsible for the technical designs, development of solutions, and coordination of and execution of deployment activities. This is a full-time, 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday position.

EXAMPLES OF DUTIES

Examples of Duties

  • Act as a go-to MuleSoft expert – providing MuleSoft technical advice, design direction, and leadership to all team members to advance the project. 
  • Promote best practices and standards for code and system management. 
  • Works with Business Analysts and Architects to design solutions for business problems and evaluate requirements for implementation in MuleSoft. 
  • Design, build, and configure applications to meet business processes and application requirements. 
  • Participate in peer for code reviews and unit testing.
  • Provides application support by analyzing defects, replicating/fixing defects, and providing root cause analysis for defects. 
  • Troubleshoots and resolves functional and performance-related issues. 
  • Support post deployment activities including knowledge transfer, process documentation, and application bug fixes.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

The preferred candidate will have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent education or work experience
  • 3+ years experience with end-to-end design and development of services for the MuleSoft framework including flows, connectors, DataWeave, exception handling, and RESTful API Modeling Language (RAML) design.
  • 3+ years experience with Java, Web Services both Simple Object Access Protocol (SOAP) and Representational State Transfer (REST), and authentication methods such as Open Authorization (OAuth) and Security Assertion Markup Language (SAML)
  • Experience in Continuous integration and Continuous deployment
  • Experience in source control management using Geographic Information Technology (GIT) such as Bitbucket.
  • Experience with Service Oriented Architectures (SOA)
Additional Consideration will be given:

  • Candidates with MuleSoft Certified Developer certifications
  • Experience with the agile software development.
  • Experience with Salesforce Service Cloud.
