The State of Connecticut, The Office of the Secretary of the State (SOTS) is designated by the Constitution and General Statutes of Connecticut as the official keeper of a wide array of public records and documents. As a vital source of information regarding various businesses, commercial lenders, elections, legislation, regulations and other areas, this office is responsible for responding to more than 600,000 requests for information annually.
We are recruiting for two (2) License and Applications Analyst positions with the Document Review Unit in the Business Services Division. The selected candidates will be expected to work 8 hours per day, Monday-Friday, and will be responsible for reviewing and processing various documents filed under the state’s corporations and business entity laws and legal documents served to the Secretary under Connecticut’s civil procedure laws.
These positions require the application of legal requirements to records filed with the division and an ability to determine whether the records may be accepted or rejected. The candidates will also be expected to provide excellent customer service over the phone, by email, and in-person at our public counter.
Candidates must also demonstrate competence and experience working with software and other technologies, such as Microsoft Office Suite, cloud phones, and help desk ticketing software.
In order to be considered for this job opening, you must be a current State of CT employee of the Office of the Secretary of the State who has permanent state status*, and meet the Minimum Qualifications as listed on the job opening. You must specify your qualifications on your application.
*For employees in the classified service, permanent status is obtained after successful completion of a working test period. For employees in the unclassified service, permanent status is obtained after serving in a position for at least six months (full-time or full-time equivalent).
