The State of Connecticut, Department of Children and Families (DCF) seeks a qualified individual for a Supervising Clinician position. This is a first shift, thirty-seven and a half (37.5) hours per week, Monday through Friday position located at Albert J. Solnit North Campus, 36 Gardner Street, East Windsor, CT 06088.
  • The hours for this position will be 8:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. four (4) days a week, and 11:00 a.m. - 6:30 p.m. one (1) day a week
This position requires a forward-thinking passionate supervisor who is dedicated to working in a gender specific program that is committed to helping boys grow into men. We are seeking someone who is able to work with a diverse population and be able to develop treatment strategies to address the needs of some of the most complicated youth and families in our state. Ideally this person will have at least 5 years in providing family therapy and supervising clinicians. If you are this individual then we want you to be a member of our team.

The ideal candidate is a hardworking clinical supervisor with experience working in acute, subacute, or residential settings. This individual will have proficiency in multiple forms of therapy, attention to detail, and the ability to transfer knowledge and standard methodology to a clinical team. Additionally, among other duties assigned, we would entrust you to:
  • Ensure clinical documentation is timely and that it meets Solnit's internal policies, DCF policies and standards, and the regulatory expectations espoused by the Joint Commission on Hospital Accreditation (JCHO), the Department of Public Health (DPH), and the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS)
  • Lead an interdisciplinary environment while managing the competing demands of clinicians, psychiatrists, teachers, milieu staff, regional DCF staff as well as outside providers
Solnit Children's Center – North Campus is a Psychiatric Residential Treatment Facility (PRTF) that provides treatment to adolescent males between the ages of 13 and 17. These individuals present with psychiatric symptoms that cannot be managed in a community setting. We treat our clients by utilizing a strength-based, family-centered relational approach based on youth-adult partnerships with a program model crafted to focus on treatment strategies. Our treatment strategies are trauma informed and gender responsive. We provide milieu treatment, individual, group, and family therapies which are complemented by rehabilitation therapy, occupational therapy, music therapy, rehabilitation therapy, and work development among other services. Our campus is dynamic and fast paced and is designed to be the bridge from hospital to home and community. Our program is also a diversionary placement to avoid the need for a hospital stay, providing an educational program, work experience opportunities, and rehabilitation.

We would continue to offer the same competitive benefits you are accustomed to as an Agency employee. This includes health and dental insurance, a retirement plan, group life insurance, and other supplemental benefits. Paid time off is also offered, including 12 paid holidays per calendar year, in addition to vacation, sick, and personal leave accruals.
