The State of Connecticut Department of Transportation (DOT) invites qualified candidates to apply for the position of a Connecticut Careers Trainee (CCT) available in the Bureau of Public Transportation, Office of Transit and Ridesharing. This position is 40 hours per week with a Monday through Friday schedule, and will occasionally require evening or weekend hours.

We are centrally located in Newington with easy access from major highways and by public transportation. This position is in the P-4 (Engineering and Scientific) bargaining unit.
Eligibility for promotion to the target classification of Transportation Planner 1 is earned upon successful completion of the training program. A candidate with a Bachelor's degree will serve a two (2) year training program. A candidate with a Master's Degree in civil engineering, transportation, urban, regional or environmental planning will serve a one (1) year training program.
*Annual salaries are to be set as follows: $50,122 (Bachelor's degree); $51,927 (Master's degree); $57,350 (second year of training)
