The State of Connecticut, Department of Public Health (DPH) is recruiting for a Public Health Section Chief. This leadership position will manage key staff and operations in the areas of HIV, Sexually Transmitted Disease, Tuberculosis, and Viral Hepatitis Section. The Section works to improve the health of the population by preventing disease, providing healthcare support services among impacted individuals, establishing opportunities that support healthy living habits, preventing disease transmission and ultimately eliminating these infectious diseases. The Public Health Section Chief will be responsible for strategic, program and operational direction for critical statewide public health programs.
This is a full time, 40 hour per week position. The work schedule is typically Monday through Friday.
This position will be filled in accordance with contractual language, reemployment, SEBAC, transfer, promotion and merit employment rules. Three (3) years experience in a supervisory capacity in an organization with programmatic and/or regulatory responsibilities for promoting or protecting public health.
Note: For State employees this is at the level of Health Program Supervisor, Supervising Nurse Consultant, Child Care Licensing Supervisor Epidemiologist 4, Environmental Protection Supervising Environmental Analyst, Supervising Sanitary Engineer or Supervising Environmental Sanitarian.
