The State of Connecticut Department of Transportation (DOT) invites qualified candidates to apply for a Transportation Planner 1 position available in the Bureau of Public Transportation, Office of Transit and Ridesharing. This position is 40 hours per week with a Monday through Friday schedule, and will occasionally require evening or weekend hours.
The Office of Transit and ridesharing is responsible for the operation and maintenance of a safe and efficient system of motor carriers for the movement of people including Bus Transit, Paratransit, and Ridesharing programs. This office is responsible for managing CTtransit, CTfastrak, and transit districts which provide 42 million passenger trips a year. We are looking for a self-motivated, collaborative project manager to work both in the office and in the field coordinating with the regional planning organizations, transit districts, cities and municipalities, to develop our new transit initiatives, including automated bus pilots, bus rapid transit, and on demand micro transit services.
