The State of Connecticut, Department of Children and Families (DCF), is seeking a qualified candidate for a Pupil Services Specialist. This is a part-time, first shift, 34 hours per week position located at our Central Office, 505 Hudson Street, Hartford, CT with expectations of statewide travel.
The Pupil Services Specialist will be responsible for providing comprehensive services to all DCF youth in post-secondary education programs. The incumbent will be responsible for consulting, assessing, and advising stakeholders in all post-secondary education programs for the Department of Children and Families. Responsibilities will include reviewing educational records, evaluate appropriateness of educational programming, and make recommendations on students transition to post-secondary education programs and institutions of higher education (two-and four-year colleges and universities), as well as other career training and technical educational programs. The selected incumbent will ensure that students have the resources and support needed to expand their learning opportunities and prepare them for success in post-secondary education or careers.

• State of Connecticut Education Certificate, specifically in one or more of the following areas:
o School Counselor (secondary education)
o Special Education
o School Social Worker
• Five years of experience working with adolescents in a secondary or post-secondary setting
