Discover this exciting opportunity to join DAS BEST as an Identity and Access Management Analyst (Information Technology Analyst 2). We are recruiting for a best-in-class Information Technology professional who is experienced with PowerShell scripting and reading/analyzing Web technologies such as:

  • JavaScript Object Notation (JSON),
  • Hypertext Markup Language (HTML),
  • JavaScript,
  • Extensible Markup Language (XML) and jQuery.

Position Details

  • Your work schedule will be from Monday-Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm
  • Primary work location is 55 Farmington Avenue, Hartford, CT.

The Team
The IAM unit will be responsible for handling the creation and protection of identities along with the applications and data being accessed within them. You will be part of a team
to help handle the provisioning and de-provisioning of accounts to support access to user productivity tools and the underlying expansion of enterprise applications.

These enterprise solutions will require strategic placement to develop the appropriate identity, application access and directory integration services to reduce the creation of additional ID and Passwords for state employees, citizens and businesses. The strategy will also address the existing technical debt with manual administration of access to agency legacy systems and will further assist the state with improving its security posture with an enterprise view of security assets to improve monitoring, risk management and incident response. 

Some of the projects you will work on: 

  • Web front end, application, and Microsoft Structured Query Language (MSSQL) servers;
  • Cloud deployment and service models including Cloud services security demands for Azure, Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Office 365;
  • Reading, understanding, and fixing Structured Query Language (SQL) queries;
  • Identity and Access Management concepts and strategies;
  • Federated authentication solutions and techniques working with the service provider’s (internal and external) developers for adopting Security Assertion Markup Language (SAML) solutions within their services to be compatible with Varian demands;
  • Networking technologies and core network communications;
  • VMware, Windows Operating Systems (OS), Linux/Unix.

PURPOSE OF JOB CLASS (NATURE OF WORK)

In a state agency Information Technology (IT) environment, this class is accountable for independently performing a full range of information technology tasks and project coordination work involving infrastructure systems support, security and application development in an IT environment.

EXAMPLES OF DUTIES

The primary responsibilities of this position will involve:

  • Developing partnerships with enterprise and large agency applications teams to collect and define technical requirements to ensure all are understood and aligned to business objectives;
  • Understanding the security and data policies to ensure compliance objectives are known and achieved within the system designs;
  • The process of provisioning and de-provisioning users in collaboration with enterprise and agency application teams;
  • Leading access management for application or any other platform integration on-premise or cloud based;
  • Implementation of data security and privacy necessary to meet National, Federal, State regulatory and compliance requirements;
  • Participation future projects with requirements for access management integration;
  • Interface to the Help Desk to coordinate and define workflow process, knowledge base articles and standards;
  • Operating procedures which concerns identity and access management;
  • Work closely with the Information Technology Security and Platform Services teams to ensure the success of Identity and Access Management on daily operations and integration;
  • Work with the directory services and solution architect to plan new services and initiatives to identify new technologies to achieve forecasted capability demands;
  • Is responsible to handle changes, request and incidents on daily periodic basis and related duties.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS - GENERAL EXPERIENCE

Six (6) years of experience in information technology (IT) operations, programming, systems/software development or another IT related support area.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS - SPECIAL EXPERIENCE

One (1) year of the General Experience must have been performing professional information technology work in one of the following areas:
1. Installation and support of microcomputer hardware, software and operating systems.
2. Analysis, design and development of information systems.
3. Network hardware and software installation and support.
4. Network hardware and/or software problem diagnosis and resolution.
NOTE: For state employees this is interpreted at the level of Information Technology Analyst 1.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS - SUBSTITUTIONS ALLOWED

1. College training in management information systems, computer science or information technology related area may be substituted for the General Experience on the basis of fifteen (15) semester hours equalling six (6) months of experience to a maximum of four (4) years for a Bachelor's degree.


2. A Master's degree in management information systems, computer science or electrical engineering may be substituted for one (1) additional year of the General Experience.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

The successful candidate will possess:

  • Five (5) years of experience implementing and supporting common three (3) tier Microsoft centric application platforms;
  • Experience with federated identity partner solutions;
  • Five (5) years of Information Technology experience with integrating enterprise business applications to achieve identity and access management objectives;
  • Experience with senior level application environments;
  • Experience with Cloud services security demands;
  • Enterprise experience working with security systems.
