Located in Willimantic, CT, Eastern Connecticut State University (ECSU) is one of the State of Connecticut institutions of higher learning and the state’s designated public liberal arts university.  Our mission is to provide high quality undergraduate and select graduate programs to a diverse population of talented students. 

We are recruiting for a full-time Duplicating Technician 2 to work 37.5 hours/week (work schedule TBD).  Incumbent must possess the ability to lift up to 30 lbs., have basic computer literacy, as well as the ability to work under deadlines.

PURPOSE OF JOB CLASS (NATURE OF WORK)

This class is accountable for performing the most complex duplicating and finishing tasks and/or for acting as a working supervisor with responsibility for a minimum of two other employees while performing unit work activities; may act as the assistant to a Duplicating Services Supervisor.

EXAMPLES OF DUTIES

Performs complex duplicating assignments utilizing various automated and/or mechanical equipment; converts hardcopy documents to electronic files; schedules and assigns work; maintains equipment; oversees daily maintenance of equipment; reviews procedures for effectiveness; maintains logs, records, and files; performs repairs on all equipment, including auxiliary equipment; may prepare reports; may operate check processing equipment; performs related duties as required.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY

Knowledge of and ability to operate various automated and/or mechanical duplicating and finishing equipment; interpersonal skills; oral and written communication skills; ability to make minor repairs; ability to identify duplicating problems and propose solutions; ability to understand and effectively carry out oral and written instructions; ability to utilize computer software; some supervisory ability.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS - GENERAL EXPERIENCE

Two (2) years of experience in the operation, adjustment, and maintenance of automated duplicating equipment.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Preference will be given to applicants with:

  • Familiarity perating copying equipment
  • Familiarity binding, folding and related equipment

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

1. Incumbents in this class must have adequate physical strength, stamina, physical agility and visual and auditory acuity, and must maintain such physical fitness as to be able to perform the duties.
2. A physical examination may be required.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Incumbents in this class may be required to lift moderate weights; may be exposed to noise and risk of injury from duplicating equipment.
