We have an exciting opportunity currently available for an ERP Financials Business Analyst. This position is responsible for validating data and transactions for the State's ERP system, utilizing/developing queries for validation of data and transactions, and many other financially related duties.

 This full-time position is Monday-Friday, 40 hours per week. This is a competitive position.

PURPOSE OF JOB CLASS (NATURE OF WORK)

In the Department of Administrative Services or Office of the State Comptroller this class is accountable for independently performing a full range of tasks in support of statewide Core-CT Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) fiscal functions including integrated financials, supply chain management or enterprise services automation modules or an assigned integrated financials support area.

EXAMPLES OF DUTIES

As an ERP Financials Business Analyst you will:

• Run scripts and test the system for validation of processes and procedures;
• Use tools for validation, i.e., SQL, PLSQL, etc.;
• Assist module lead in all aspects of supporting the State’s ERP system, e.g., review complex technical subjects and present them to users in easy to understand terms;
• Talk to developers in complex terms to explain user’s requirements, monitor processes and transactions.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY

Knowledge of Peoplesoft and/or an ERP (system) modules; knowledge of principles and practices of public administration, governmental budget management and accounting including project costing; some knowledge of the integration of modules; some knowledge of and ability to map business processes; some knowledge of and ability to utilize programming logic, validation testing, script writing, SQL and other troubleshooting software; interpersonal skills; oral and written communication skills; analytical and problem solving skills; ability to prepare and analyze financial documents and reports; ability to utilize Enterprise Resource Planning systems; some ability to understand how the application does or does not support the State’s business process; some ability to train and make presentations; some ability to gather technical information and effectively communicate to the appropriate source.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS - GENERAL EXPERIENCE

Six (6) years of professional experience as a business analyst operating within financial systems.
Business analyst is defined as serving as a liaison between business units, technology and support teams interpreting the business needs of an organization and translating into application and operational requirements.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS - SUBSTITUTIONS ALLOWED

1. College training in business administration, accounting, finance, public administration or a closely related field may be substituted for the General Experience on the basis of fifteen (l5) semester hours equaling one-half (l/2) year of experience to a maximum of four (4) years for a Bachelor's degree.
2. A Master's degree in public administration, business administration or accounting may be substituted for one (1) year of the General Experience.
3. For State Employees one (1) year as an Accountant, Contract Analyst or Fiscal Administrative Officer involving work with the Core-CT financial Enterprise Resource Planning system may be substituted for the General Experience.
4. Completion of a Connecticut Career Trainee program with the target of ERP Financials Business Analyst may be substituted for the General Experience.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

We'd love to hear from you if you have:

• 2 years+ experience and knowledge of Peoplesoft 9.2 HR and/or FIN modules;
• Experience and knowledge of integration between modules;
• Good communication, organization and planning skills;
• Good presentation skills, training development;
• Experience and knowledge of Microsoft Office suite;
• Knowledge of state statutes, GAAP, State Accounting Manual, policies and procedures;
• Attention to detail and are good with technical analysis.

Employees in this class may be required to travel.
