We are accepting applications for for the position of Police Lieutenant. This position is full time (40 hours per week). Assigned shift is to be determined.

In the Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services, the University System, or Manchester Community College this class is accountable for supervising law enforcement activities and security functions.
In the Department of Social Services, Office of Child Support Services this class is accountable for the supervision of staff engaged in performing a full range of tasks relevant to the enforcement and investigation of statutes governing child support fraud.
GENERAL: Plans, organizes and supervises police activities; assesses enforcement, protection and security needs of the institution; develops plans and procedures to accommodate full range of problems; allocates patrol or investigative area duty assignments to unit personnel; schedules subordinates to provide for 24-hour coverage of security function; plans, develops and conducts training programs; evaluates staff performance and reports on, recommends or takes corrective action as required; prepares reports of unit activities; coordinates exchange of information with other law enforcement agencies; supervises inspection or investigative activities; conducts confidential investigations and handles cases involving more serious or sensitive incidents; supervises, conducts or coordinates special programs, projects and services; supervises identification process for employees involved with security or handling of money; serves as a member of facility security committee; may perform full range of police enforcement, protection, security and administrative functions as required; may take command of police unit in absence of an official of higher rank; performs related duties as required.
SOCIAL SERVICES: Plans, organizes and supervises child support capias unit and activities; schedules, assigns, oversees and reviews work of staff; provides and coordinates staff training; conducts performance evaluations; recommends or takes corrective action as required; determines priorities and plans unit work including review of program objectives; establishes and maintains unit procedures; recommends or develops unit policies and standards; acts as liaison with other operating units, law enforcement agencies, and outside entities regarding unit policies and procedures; prepares reports of unit activities, correspondence, and other statistical or narrative reports as needed; consults with Social Services Program Manager or designee in development and implementation of program objectives including investigation and quality review methodology; conducts or coordinates special operations; may perform full range of tasks assigned to a Special Enforcement Officer including the service of civil warrants and capias mittimus orders; may be required to conduct investigations or surveillance at night or during early morning hours under unpleasant conditions; performs related duties as necessary.
GENERAL: Two (2) years of the General Experience must have been at the level of Police Sergeant.
SOCIAL SERVICES: Two (2) years of the General Experience must have been as a Special Enforcement Officer.
