The State of Connecticut, Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services (DMHAS) is a health care agency whose mission is to promote the overall health and wellness of persons with behavioral health needs through an integrated network of holistic, comprehensive, effective, and efficient services and supports that foster dignity, respect, and self-sufficiency in those we serve. The Western Connecticut Mental Health Network (WCMHN), Young Adult Services (YAS) division, is currently recruiting for two experienced Supervising Clinicians #106961 & 75646. These are 1st shift, Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m., 40 hour/week position.
As a Supervising Clinician, you will provide direct administrative and clinical supervision to professional and paraprofessional staff in a Young Adult Multidisciplinary Community Support Team; assist with staff and program development within YAS and develop relationships with community providers to ensure integration of services for young adult clients. The Supervising Clinician also identifies barriers and assists with strategies and solutions to improve client care and supports implementation of agency initiatives while also facilitating weekly staff meetings, conducting quarterly reviews and annual performance appraisals. Participating in risk management and the development of recovery plans to address identified risk factors is also required.

Two (2) years of the General Experience must have been at a lead level responsible for coordinating the work of a unit or team of professionals in a psychiatric setting.
Note: For State Employees the lead level is interpreted at the level of a Clinical Social Worker Associate for social work discipline, Head Nurse for the nursing discipline, an Associate Professional Counselor and an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist.
The preferred candidate will have :
• Established clinical skills and judgment regarding risk issues.
• Experience providing clinical and administrative supervision to a multi-disciplinary team with professional and paraprofessional staff including licensed clinical social workers.
• Experience ensuring complex clients have integrated services.
• Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills.
• Comfort and experience overseeing risk management in a fast paced work environment.
