This Transportation Maintenance Crew Leader (Highway Maintenance), is a 37.5 hour position located in the Vernon Maintenance Facility. The hours are Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
Incumbents in this class must be willing to accept assignment to emergency duties, including snow and ice removal, whenever his or her services are needed; mandatory winter overtime from November 1 through April 30.
In order to be considered for this job opening, you must be a current employee of the Department of Transportation who has permanent state status, and meet the Minimum Qualifications as listed on the job opening. You must specify your qualifications on your application.
Applicants must be a current Department of Transportation employee, hold a valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) (A or B), with the "tank endorsement" and valid Medical Examiner's Card (MEC) in order to be eligible to apply.

Knowledge of materials, equipment and approved methods of surface treatment, surface and shoulder betterments, concrete work, guide rail construction, drainage construction and maintenance; knowledge of approved methods of filling joints, patching, snow removal and sanding ice, and erosion control; ability to make minor bridge repairs; interpersonal skills; oral and written communication skills; ability to utilize computer software; some supervisory ability.
Two (2) years of skilled experience in the maintenance and repair of highways.
Note: For State Employees the General Experience is interpreted at the level of Transportation Maintainer 2.
