The Connecticut Airport Authority is recruiting for 2 full-time Transportation Maintainer 1 positions located at Bradley International Airport. These 7.5 hour per day/37.5 hour per week positions are responsible for performing a full range of grounds, equipment, and facilities duties. Applicants must be willing to accept assignment to emergency duties, including snow and ice removal and glycol recovery when those services are needed. The schedule for these positions is Wednesday through Sunday from 7:00 am - 3:00 pm, which includes a half-hour unpaid meal period. There will be an initial training period during which the schedule will be Monday through Friday from 7:00am - 3:00pm, before transitioning to a Wednesday through Sunday schedule. These positions require mandatory overtime work on nights, holidays and weekends, as needed.
Individuals serving in this position must be able to successfully undergo a thorough background and security screening, physical examination including pre-employment drug screening, fingerprinting and maintain required security clearance during the duration of employment. Incumbents in this class must obtain a Bradley movement area certification allowing them to independently operate vehicles and equipment on Airfield movement areas while effectively communication with the Air Traffic Control for proper clearance. This position requires a Class A or B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) and a valid Medical Examiner's Certificate at the time of application, and must be kept current as a condition of employment with the CAA.
