DEPARTMENT OF ADMINISTRATIVE SERVICES

If you have an eye for design and project management, the Real Estate and Construction Services division at the Department of Administrative Services (DAS) offers Engineering opportunities to manage, direct and oversee the entire operation of assigned design and construction projects. This includes plans through design and construction, to occupancy of facilities and post-occupancy evaluations. Represent the agency on projects and have the authority and responsibility as client liaisons to negotiate professional service contracts, monitor and direct design progress & manage schedules.

DEPARTMENT OF ENERGY AND ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION

At the Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP), you can be part of a team that safeguards Connecticut's natural resources. From conservation efforts and clean energy development, to managing capital projects in state parks and protecting air and water quality, DEEP Engineers help to preserve the environment for future generations.

DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION

At the Connecticut Department of Transportation (DOT), Engineers play a crucial role in building and maintaining a safe and efficient transportation network. From highway construction and materials testing to traffic engineering and project management, you’ll enhance the safety of Connecticut’s residents and help to improve their quality of life.

DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC HEALTH

At the Department of Public Health (DPH), Engineers work to protect the public from environmental threats. Whether it’s preventing disease through water quality regulations, managing asbestos, or overseeing private well safety, your work will directly impact public health and well-being.

DOT Engineers are responsible for oversight of the Department’s 60 major bridges and programming of future bridge rehabilitation and/or replacement projects for those bridges.
An estimated 40% of Connecticut residents, close to 1.5 million people, live in homes served by on-site sewage systems? DPH Engineers help approve septic plans throughout the state.
Call Before You Dig (CBYD) is a DEEP established program to protect the public safety with regard to excavations near underground facilities by providing a communications link between excavators, public agencies, and public utilities and can be helped by DEEP Engineers.
DAS Engineers can be found executing, designing, analysis and coordination of work pertaining to all phases of design and planning for state buildings and institutions.
