We at Connecticut Valley Hospital (CVH), are seeking qualified Nurses to work in our General Psychiatry Division, located at 1000 Silver Street in Middletown. These positions are full-time, 35 hours per week, first shift roles. The work schedule is from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with a 72-72-72 rotation, with every other weekend and holidays. These positions will be located within the Battell 3 South (PCN 102539) and Battell 2 South (PCNs 126101 and 118593) units.
Battell 2 South and Battell 3 South are general psychiatric, co-ed units treating patients with a variety of serious and persistent mental health illnesses and symptoms.
The Connecticut Valley Hospital boasts a rich history first opening its doors over 150 years ago in 1868. As the State’s public hospital we provide treatment of mental illness and currently comprised of 18 inpatient units over two campuses (Middletown and Hartford). In our operational framework, recovery is defined as a process of restoring or developing a positive and meaningful sense of identity apart from one’s condition and then rebuilding one’s life in the fullest sense. In a state agency this class is accountable for providing a full range of professional nursing care.
EXAMPLES OF DUTIES

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS - GENERAL EXPERIENCE
Graduation from an accredited nursing program.
1. Incumbents in this class must possess and retain a license or temporary permit as a Registered Professional Nurse in Connecticut.
2. Incumbents in this class may be required to be fluent in a foreign language or proficient in the use of the American Sign Language in certain designated positions.
3. Incumbents in this class may be required to travel.
