The DMHAS, Capitol Region Mental Health Center (CRMHC) seeks an experienced and qualified individual for the position of Principal Psychiatrist (DMHAS) PCN 26855. This position will serve as the Program Director for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing Team (DHoH). We are a person-centered and recovery-oriented service that are culturally and linguistically affirmative for Deaf, Deaf Blind, and Hard-of-Hearing adults, who are eighteen (18) and older with persistent mental illness and/or substance use problems. We are located at 500 Vine Street, Hartford, CT. This is a full-time, forty (40) hours per week position. The work schedule is Monday - Friday, 8:00am to 4:30pm.

This position will be responsible for:
Assigning, overseeing and evaluating the staff on the
DHoH Team.
On-going evaluation and implementation of program
development, quality improvement activities, utilization management, and
related administrative functions for the DHoH Team.
Providing direct client care, psychotherapy and
medication management.
Providing consultation and psychiatric oversight for the
DHoH treatment team.
Completing initial client intake assessments for the DHoH
and the Intake Teams.
Attending court hearings and providing court testimony on behalf of the facility.
