The State of Connecticut, Department of Children and Families seeks a qualified individual for a Pupil Services Specialist. This is a full-time, first shift, (35) hours per week position located at Albert J. Solnit North Campus, 36 Garner Street, East Windsor, CT 06088. The work schedule is Monday-Friday, 8:00 am – 3:30 pm.
The Albert J. Solnit Children’s Center North Campus provides treatment to adolescent males between the ages of 13 and 17 by utilizing a strength based, family-centered relational approach based on youth-adult partnerships with a program model designed to focus on treatment strategies which are trauma informed and gender responsive.
The Pupil Services Specialist will be responsible for providing comprehensive services to all DCF youth in post-secondary education programs. The incumbent will be responsible for consulting, assessing, and advising stakeholders in all post-secondary education programs for the Department of Children and Families. Responsibilities will include reviewing educational records, evaluate appropriateness of educational programming, performs services for students in the area of special training such as educational diagnosis, counseling, speech and hearing, social work, or psychological services; services in a resource capacity to educational staff and other appropriate individuals; confers with parents and teacher concerning individual students and assist in planning educational programs; may serve as a liaison with school systems and community services; performs related duties as required.
