The State of Connecticut, Department of Correction (DOC) is seeking Medical Records Specialists 2 in Wethersfield, CT at Central Office. This is a 40- hour per week position, day shift, Monday to Friday, 8.5 hour workdays with .5 hour unpaid meal break. Exact schedule to be set by supervisor during orientation, typical schedule is 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. The correctional facilities have unique medical records needs, specific concentration on requesting records from community providers and preparing records for external sharing, following process, policy and privacy guidelines set by statue and agency policy.

*For employees in the classified service, permanent status is obtained after successful completion of a working test period. For employees in the unclassified service, permanent status is obtained after serving in a position for at least six months (full-time or full-time equivalent).
