The State of Connecticut Department of Transportation (DOT) invites its qualified agency employees to apply for the position of Transportation Maintainer 3 (Bridge Maintenance) located in the Milford Bridge Maintenance Facility. This position is responsible for performing highly skilled tasks in carpentry or masonry in the maintenance and repair of state bridges. It is a 37.5 hour position with a work schedule of 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
Incumbents must be willing to accept assignment to emergency duties, including snow & ice removal whenever needed; mandatory winter overtime from November 1-April 30. Incumbents will be required to maintain a 30 mile residency from job location.
Applicants invited to interview will be requested to supply a copy of their Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A or B with Tank Endorsement, valid medical Card (MEC), and a thoroughly completed CT Department of Transportation Commercial Driver Supplement (CTDOT-CDL-1).
In order to be considered for this job opening, you must be a current State of CT employee of the Department of Transportation, who has permanent state status* and meet the Minimum Qualifications as listed on the job opening. You must specify your qualifications on your application.
*For employees in the classified service, permanent status is obtained after successful completion of a working test period. For employees in the unclassified service, permanent status is obtained after serving in a position for at least six months (full-time equivalent).
