The State of Connecticut, The Connecticut Airport Authority is recruiting for a full-time Transportation Maintainer 1 position located at Bradley International Airport. This 7.5 hour per day/37.5 hour per week position is responsible for performing a full range of grounds, equipment, and facilities duties.
There are three schedules for the Maintenance department: Monday through Friday 7:00 am – 3:00 pm, Monday through Friday 3:00 am – 11:00 am, and Wednesday through Sunday 7:00 am – 3:00 pm. Each schedule includes a half-hour daily unpaid meal period. There will be an initial training period during which the schedule will be Monday through Friday from 7:00am - 3:00pm, before transitioning to one of the three schedules noted. Schedule assignment will be based upon CAA operating needs and seniority, and is subject to reassignment.
Applicants must be willing to accept assignment to emergency duties, including snow and ice removal and glycol recovery when those services are needed. The position requires mandatory overtime work on nights, holidays and weekends, as needed.

An individual serving in this position must be able to successfully undergo a thorough background and security screening, physical examination including pre-employment drug screening, fingerprinting and maintain required security clearance during the duration of employment. Incumbents in this class must obtain Bradley movement area certification, allowing them to independently operate vehicles and equipment on Airfield movement areas while effectively communicating with Air Traffic Control for proper clearance. Movement area certification must be maintained during the duration of employment. This position requires a Class A or B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) and a valid Medical Examiner's Certificate at the time of application, and must be kept current as a condition of employment with the CAA.
