PURPOSE OF JOB CLASS (NATURE OF WORK)

In the Connecticut Insurance Department this class is accountable for directing an office responsible for advocacy of mental and behavioral health providers and state residents.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

The advocate shall be an elector of the state with expertise and experience in the fields of mental or behavioral health care, health insurance and advocacy for parity in mental and behavioral health access and outcomes.

APPOINTMENT

Appointed by the Governor in accordance with the provisions of Section 38a-1061 of the Connecticut General Statutes.
