Administers and directs the activities of the Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services.
The Commissioner of Mental Health and Addiction Services shall be a qualified person with a Master's degree or higher in a health related field and at least ten years' experience in hospital, health, mental health or substance abuse administration.
Appointed by the Governor with the advice of the Board of Mental Health in accordance with the provisions of Sections 4-5 through 4-8, 17a-450(a) and 17a-451(a) of the Connecticut General Statutes.
This replaces the existing specification for the class of Commissioner of Mental Health and Addiction Services in Salary Group EX 01 approved effective July 1, 1995. (Revised to modify content)
