In the Office of the Medical Examiner directs the operations of the office as provided by Public Act No. 699 of the 1969 Session of the General Assembly and as amended by Public Act No. 412 of the 1971 Session of the General Assembly.
Appointment by the Commission on Medicolegal Investigations in accordance with Section 19a-404 of the General Statutes. "The chief medical examiner shall be a citizen of the United States and a doctor of medicine licensed to practice medicine in Connecticut and shall have had a minimum of four years post graduate training in pathology and such additional subsequent experience in forensic pathology as the commission may determine provided any person otherwise qualified who is not licensed to so practice may be appointed medical examiner, provided he shall obtain such a license within one year of his appointment."
Appointed by the Commission on Medicolegal Investigations under the provisions of Sections 19a-403 and 19a-405 of the General Statutes.
This replaces the existing specification for the class of Chief Medical Examiner in Salary Group VR 99 approved effective July 1, 1977. (Revised to modify Experience and Training)
