ABOUT THE ALAMEDA COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE
The Alameda County Sheriff's Office is a full-service law enforcement agency accredited through the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies (CALEA) for its law enforcement services, its Regional Training Center, and its Dispatch Unit; the American Society of Crime Laboratory Directors Laboratory Accreditation Board for its Crime Lab; the Bomb Squad Commanders Advisory Board for its Explosive Ordinance Unit. Additionally, the agency's health care provider, Wellpath, has experience working with the National Commission on Correctional Health Care (NCCHC).
The Sheriff's Office has a current budget of approximately $600 million and has over 1600 authorized positions, including in excess of 1000 sworn personnel. The agency's Chief Executive Officer is Sheriff / Coroner Yesenia L. Sanchez, who is assisted in the operation of the agency by Undersheriff April Luckett-Fahimi, Assistant Sheriffs Daniel McNaughton and Pace Stokes.

Review for Minimum Qualifications: Completed by Tuesday, July 7, 2026.
During this time, applications will be reviewed to verify minimum qualifications as stated in the bulletin. All applicants will receive an email notification regarding the results of the application review before the end of the week.
Written Examination: Week of July 21, 2026
A written test which will be qualifying only (pass/fail). Applicants who pass the written test will move forward to the next step of the examination process, an assessment center.
Candidate Orientation: Friday, July 31, 2026, at 2:00 PM, via Microsoft Teams
This orientation provides applicants information on the upcoming assessment center. Although not mandatory, applicants are encouraged to attend the orientation. Note: Only applicants who pass the written examination will move on to the assessment center.
Assessment Center: Week of August 17, 2026
Applicants who pass the written examination will be invited to participate in an assessment center. The assessment center score will be weighted as 100% of the candidate's final examination score.
